Upcycled Plastic Easter Egg Wreath

I didn't realize how close Easter is --  I better get busy.  I was going through last year's decorations when I came across my plastic Easter egg wreath.  I like how it turned out, but, as my daughter would say, "That, is so last year!"  While gluing some of the eggs back on, I got an idea.  What if I just painted it?

What do you think?

I really like it and think I will keep it in kitchen for a while.  Now, what am I gonna use for Easter?

Here is where I get my Party On......

Office Makeover Part 1

I have been working on this little home office off and on for quite sometime.  I am almost done, and I wanted to show you half today.  

This is what I started with.  It was a matching bookcase to the one I used in my daycare launchpad below.

I painted the bookcase my Heirloom White and distressed it with a piece of sandpaper and a dark stain.

I went a little crazy with shade of green for about a month.  It really isn't my shade, so,

I recovered my magazine holders with just a craft brown wrapping paper.  I keep office supplies and my older copies of magazines that I just can't part with yet.

I love the mail sorter.  I still can't believe I got that at Saver's.  Should I paint it yellow too?  Anyway, I love it because it helps me remember to mail my birthday and anniversary cards on time.  I really do need all the help I can get in that area.

I found the olive green locker boxes at The Dollar Tree and liked that combo a lot more.  I keep office supplies, my label makers, and receipts in them.

I wanted to add a cork board to the back of the bookcase and found these cute little frames in my stash.

To give them a little character, I stamped some sunflowers on the cork.

  They were white, but, I thought the yellow would tie them in with my yellow office chair.

The old milk can was passed down to us by my husband's mom.  It was on a farm from her childhood.  

Oh, and the best part.  I touched up the paint on the little bit of wall next to the bookcase.  Wow, my kids knock the tar out of it.  I love how nice it looks -- for a while.

2012 St. Patrick's Entryway Shelf

Happy Tuesday everyone.  I am so excited this week.  It is SPRING BREAK and I do not have any extra little ones.  I love my job (who do you know gets paid to play outside and finger paint?), but, I really enjoy not having toys and blankets (they are into tents right now) all over my house.  However, my computer has been acting really strange.  I could not get on line all day yesterday and I just now got on today.  I left a message for my Internet carrier.  Anyway, here is my St. Patrick's entryway shelf.  I will be back a little later (I hope) with an update on my little home office closet.

Instead of a wreath, I put my Lucky Barn Star up this year.

I think it is so hard to find St. Patrick's decorations that aren't too crazy.  I find it to be a challenge.

I got the cute little lantern at Target around Thanksgiving.  I just added a quick candle stick, and a shamrock to give it a little more character.

I had these cute little green apples and thought, why not?

I found the button at Big Lot's and just pinned it onto some burlap.  Add a cute painted frame and you have a little "Pin Art".  

I did the same thing last year with several small pins.  I think my kids took the pins to wear last year which means, I will never see them again.

This was my first attempt at bunting.  I think it turned out kind of cute (that cute little fur spot is my cat, Gata).

My kids are so excited for St. Patty's day because they LOVE corned beef.  I usually have to cook three.  I will be sure to take a picture of them.

Spring Moss Wreath

 Happy Monday Everyone.  I hope you all had a great weekend and this post finds you healthy and happy.  I will not be around very much this week, I have to get my taxes done. I really tried to get some of it done this weekend, but, the weather was so beautiful, I made a wreath instead.

I made this wreath for my back patio.

I stared with this flat wreath form that I got from Michael's.  The styrofoam wreath was more than double the price.  I didn't have a 40% off coupon, so, this is what I came home with - he he

Now, I looked at moss at Michael's and it was around 7.99 for a package of moss with three different colors in a bag.  Although the bag was a little bigger, it was still $7.99.  I went to The Dollar Tree and found these for only $1.00.  I bought four bags (which was still cheaper) and used only two.  I saved enough money on the moss to pay for the flat wreath form - ha ha.

I really liked the three colors.

I guess four colors, this is really spongy.

I sprayed the flat form with tacky spray and started to stick it on.  I also used a little tacky glue in places to make it thicker.

I got this awesome ribbon after Christmas for 90% off.  I only paid .69 cents -- YEAH :)

It has a natural look, like the wreath.

I found a nest and bird eggs in my spring supplies.

There you have it, and, the best part is that it cost under $10.00 to make.  I really like the natural look, but, I think it looks more like summer.  I bet it will be hanging around the back of the house for a while.  Thanks for stopping by and have a great week.
