Monogram for the Front Door

Hi Everyone.  I hope you are all doing well and enjoying your summer.  This is just a little Monogram I put on my front door after creeping on The DIY Mommy blog.   She is awesome, here is the link

I got the monogram cutout at Michael's for like three bucks.  How could I pass that up?  I sprayed it with some turquoise spray paint (oops - missed a spot), and called it good.

Everything else I had on hand.  the flowers were from the Dollar Tree and the willow branches, I was going to throw them away.  I think they are at least ten years old.  I really need to de-clutter!

I started by gluing the larger flowers on.

Then I glued whatever else I had on.

I put it on the front door for now.  I have an idea for a summer wreath, but, it may take me a few weeks days.

I live in Arizona, it has been 117 lately, so I am staying indoors.  I guess I have to clear clutter, clean and organize.  Please stay tuned, I am in the kitchen now.  I should have a post by Friday :-)  Have a great week, drink plenty of water and stay cool.

Fairy Gardens for Mom

Happy May Everyone.  I barely made it, but, I did.  Tomorrow is June 1st already.  I just don't understand where time goes.  The older I get, the faster it goes.  I have really missed my blog and haven't been on since October.  What is up with that?  I always catch myself thinking, I need to get a picture of this and most importantly, what will I say on that first post back.  Well, I have decided to just start - rip that band aid off and have some fun.  So, here we go:

Doing for childcare for 23 years, it is hard coming up with things the kids can make.  I think they really hit it out of the park this year.  They started by putting hand prints on the outside of the pot.  We were shooting for a butterfly, but, we did get a few spiders in there - lol.

Then we made little fairies. a birdbath, and I love their little stone paths.

The fairies were made with a clothes pin, doll head (or dowel cap), yarn, a small wooden star, a toothpick and a piece of yellow felt.

I love the faces of the fairies.  This one in suppose to be Harlequin from Batman.

Just wrap the top of the clothes pin with yarn for a top.  Then a pom pom for the skirt.

The birdbath was made from a miniature pot inverted and the saucer on top.  I ran out of the pots and used a cork for the picture.  They painted them and added jewels to decorate the saucer.  They were so pretty.  After everything was painted, I sprayed clear spray paint over everything to seal it - I didn't want anything to bleed.

I loved them ALL.  I just wish one was made for me!  I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day.

Happy Crafting.
