Christmas Topiaries

I am just not around much in the fall.  I run a small daycare in my home and I have all teachers, so, I get the summers off to spend with my kids.  That is also when my kids sports get really rolling, and, I am on either a football or softball field when not with the little ones.  I know it is late, but, I did want to share this little craft I did for Thanksgiving.

It looked nice on my Thanksgiving table.  Sorry, I didn't even get pictures this year.  My husbands dad went into the hospital the day before our Thanksgiving dinner, and, I just feel blessed that we even had one.

It was very easy.  I just glued hazelnuts and almonds to a couple of styrofoam forms.

I made another hazelnut tree and added some red berries and a raffia garland.  Oh, and I but a little Spanish moss to hide some of the gaps.

I popped some pine cones into the flower pots I had some candles in and it makes a nice natural table scape.

I cut a piece of burlap for a runner.  I think I need to fray it a little.

Very easy and inexpensive.

Believe

Boy, am I behind.  It seems like it was just Thanksgiving, and, I was thinking we have an extra week this year.  Yeah right.  Where did it go?  Well, one week went with my softball girl to Cali for a tournament.  This past weekend, I was making tamales for a fund raiser and next weekend she has another tournament.  Don't these people do Christmas?  Anyway, here is my humble beginning:

This year, It all started with this little sign.  I got it this past summer for .75 cents and fell in LOVE with it.  It was already white and the only thing I could think was, "who would get rid of something this cool?"

What comes to mind when I see Believe?  Santa.  So, I gathered up my Santa's and came up with this.

It's just not complete without a sleigh.

I don't know, Santa's head on a platter?  Too creepy?

Well, that's it.  Thank you so much for stopping by.  Do you have a theme?  What started yours?

Spice Candy Ornaments or Decroative Balls

I really wanted to make a few new ornaments for my Christmas tree this year and thought these would be really colorful.  They were delicious fun to make and I like all the pretty colors.

Did anybody else think this was an awesome deal?  I was so stinking  happy to see these foam balls at The Dollar Tree.  I was going to buy the styrofoam balls, but, they are a little pricey.  With this deal, I got 18 balls for $2.00 - YEAH!!!!  I actually thought I heard the angles sing.

I just hot glued these little gems right on -- one for the foam ball and two for me - he he.

They are really cute, but, they are also very heavy.  They were going to be for my tree, but, I will probably make a yummy centerpiece for my kitchen table instead.

I hope you have a great day and a delicious weekend.

Christmas Canister Set

I bought my white canister set last year at a garage sale for about $5.00.  I have had so much fun creating seasonal canisters just by changing up some cute scrapbook stickers.  So, I get a new canister set each season for around $3.00 (I always get my stickers on sale or with my 40% off coupon).

I love these.  Just plain white and ready to become anything I am in the mood for.

This year I chose some cute ornaments.

This was last year's design.  I still just LOVE this one.  I believe they were part of Martha Stewart's Christmas line.

These are just fun.

Now, to get into the Christmas Cookie mood - he he.

Christmas Glass Block

Christmas is here, let our glass blocks shine - ha ha.  Let me know if you have done one?  I would love to come and see.

I bought these cute little ornaments at Target.  Target has a lot of cute seasonal decorations for $2.50.  These little jems were just $1.00.  I think I used 4 tubes in a large glass block.

This cute little pick was at Michael's for under $1.00.  I took it apart and only used the pine and birdie.

When it is all lit up, especially at Christmas, I can't help but think, let the light of Jesus shine through you (Jesus is the reason for the season).
