Mason Jar Lid Pumpkin

Over the weekend, I was cleaning out my lid drawer and found that I had an abundant supply of Mason jar lids.  Over the summer, I replaced my drinking glasses with Mason jars.  I just got tired of my kids breaking and/or chipping my pretty ones.  This way, I know I can replace them with the same thing.  I can't tell you how many times I fell in love with a certain style and couldn't find it when it was time to replace a couple.  I even got a six pack of the pretty vintage blue ones from Target.  Now, a little rant -- I only have THREE left.  Why do they have to use the blue ones when there are twelve of the other???????

Now, back to the purpose of this post, I found a use for the many rings I had in my drawer.

My Mason jar ring Pumpkin.

I couldn't think of a better way to use my large supply of mason jar rings.  I am even making a few for Fall gifts.

My new sets of drinking glasses.  I love them -- I can also use them for so many other things.

Love my Dollar Store sunflowers too.

Just take your rings and string them on a piece of jute.

Bring the ends to together and tie it off.

Shoot it with some orange spray paint and add a stick from the yard as a stem.  I used a strip of festive material and there you have it.

Happy Fall.

One Stamp, Three Cards

I love Halloween -- I think I send more Halloween cards than Christmas cards - ha ha.......

I was at Michael's the other day and found this little beauty in the 2 for $1.50 spot and fell in love (if you can fall in love with a skeleton).  I thought it would be fun to see if I could make three different cards using the same materials.

I like the way they all turned out, what about you?  Which one do you like the best?

Halloween Glass Block

It's that time again.  Time to decorate my glass block for Halloween.  I think I won my glass block at BUNCO two years ago, and, I have been changing it out ever since.  My favorite place to find the fillers is, of course, The Dollar Store.  I found some pretty purple lights this year -- woo hoo.  I love them, they are so pretty.

I was digging around in one my many junk craft drawers and found a zip bag with these window clings in it.  I remember getting them at The Dollar Store last year.

The ribbon is so pretty and it too came from The Dollar Store.

I love how simple and colorful it is.

I am having the hardest time trying to show you how pretty the purple lights are.

There it is all lit up on my red hutch.

May your day be a batty shade of purple.

Halloween Spider Candles - Dollar Store Craft

I love candles......  They are so much fun and an easy way to change the look of a room.  I especially love The Dollar Tree's because candles can be very expensive.  Here is an easy way to transform glass cylinders (from the Dollar Store) into really fun Halloween decorations.

The supplies I used was:  Three glass cylinders (different sizes), black ribbon, double sided tape, white string, silhouette cutouts, and micro beads.

I started out with The Dollar Tree's solid black ribbon.  covered the entire ribbon with double sided tape (it took three pieces of tape).

After you have the double sided tape on, just wrap the string around until you get a spider web effect.

The micro beads are very small and a little goes a long way.

After placing your paper spider where you want it, fill in all the sticky areas with the micro beads.  I was afraid that the double sided tape would catch flies or other flying bugs, just like a real one -- ha ha, if left alone.  I do love the glitter effect it gives off.

This was a very inexpensive craft that looks expensive.  Gotta love The Dollar Tree.  Everything with the exception of the micro beads and double sided tape can be purchased from The Dollar Tree.   What Dollar Store crafts have you been up to lately?

Fall Decorating with The Dollar Store

I love fall, or at least the idea of fall.  I live in Mesa, Arizona and by now, I am ready for the heat to be over and the cool weather to start.  It is still reaching anywhere from 104 to 110.  I did hear this morning that it is going to get a little cooler after this weekend which will be nice.  The mornings will be somewhere between 60 and 70 and the evenings will cool down too.  I love to go outside and sit with a cup of coffee when my day with the daycare is over -- can hardly wait.  Anyway, my hubby is a little slow getting my holiday decorations down, so, I went to The Dollar Tree for a few things and was so excited to see these.

I love mason jars almost as much as I love chickens, so, I just had to get a few.  I also picked up a fall vine and glass candlesticks.

So yummy....  I got apple pie.

I glued three mason jar candles to glass candlesticks and tied a raffia bow on them.  I took the Fall vine and laid it down the center of my table on a burlap table runner, then, I just scattered the candles using the vine as a guide.

Very simple, but, I like the effect.

I also grabbed a couple packages of yellow candles and a small bunch of sunflowers.

I took my wire cutters and cut the flowers from the bush so I had individual flowers.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, my bottles and holder that I got from Decor Steals.  It has so many possibilities that I just get so excited when it is time to change it out.

I put three candles in the jars on one side and three flowers in the other.

Easy Peasy and what a burst of color.

I hope this will tie me over until my hubby gets my Halloween decorations down from the attic.

Wishing you a sunflower kind of day.
