Pretty Candle Holders

I hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas season.  Mine is flying by and I hope I have a couple of post before it is all over.  We have so much going on that I am barely keeping up.  I just put these together this past week.

This is what you need.  Greenery (I got mine from Hobby Lobby right after Thanksgiving), some clear cylinder candle holders (I love the ones at The Dollar Tree), scissors, and double sided tape.

I put some double sided tape around the cylinder like so.

and just started placing the greenery around the cylinder leaving some hanging down off of the bottom.

I trimmed the bottom with regular scissors and that was it.

I tried some pretty Christmas ribbon, but, I like the natural effect of the raffia better.

Add some pretty candles and that is it.  I think the whole thing took me twenty minuets.

Merry Christmas.

Pretty Easter Candles

Boy, has Easter snuck up on you?  I think this entire year has snuck up on me.  I have been behind since before Christmas -- sigh.  Easter is next weekend, and, I am just finishing my entryway shelf and red hutch decorations.  I love to use candles.  I think they add such a warmth to your home, and, you can change them out easily. I was really hooked on white ones this past summer, and, I think my obsession with them are going to continue through this summer too.  Here they are, all dressed up for Easter.

The Dollar Tree has the best candles.  I hate to spend more than a dollar on a   seasonal candle.  If it doesn't turn out, it wasn't a lot of money wasted.

I thought these were so pretty.  I love the pastel colors, so, I got them for my DC kids.  I didn't realize that they don't like jelly beans.  Who doesn't like jelly beans?  I didn't want to waste, or eat, them.  I think this was my best option.

I made this one first and didn't like the second row of jelly beans.  So, I tried to make a scallop with an additional jelly bean and didn't like it either.  I think the rose sticker adds enough for me not to throw it away yet - ha ha.

I used a very iridescent pink ribbon to go around the candle, and a flower to add pizazz.

Easy and inexpensive.  Did you alter any candles for Easter?

xoxo

"Crafty" Candles

I love my Country Living Magazine.  While looking through, I found some beautifully painted/stamped candles.  I just had to have them.  I checked my stash and found that I didn't have to buy anything.  That is a great day isn't it?  When you don't have to run to the Dollar Store or Craft Store?  Anyway, this is how mine turned out.

This is the only paint needed.

Some lace.  I have a couple different types, but, this is the one that was easiest to work with.

The best way to do it, is, to paint the black paint on to the lace lightly.  Lay the ribbon flat on a piece of tin foil and roll the candle onto the lace.  I tried several ways.  Oh, the best part, is, if you don't like the way it turned out?  Just wash it off quickly and start over.

I just used all the white candles I got for my summer candle arrangements, so, I paid nothing in a additional supplies - YEAH...

What do you think?  I can hardly wait to get them scattered all over - ha ha.
I love Halloween Decorations!!!!!
