A Fall Sun Catcher Votive

Wishing everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving.  This year is going or has gone by so fast.  I know that the next post will probably be well into the Christmas Season.

I just haven't had much time to do anything but daycare.  I have a group of new kiddos and they are a handful.  I just realized that they are all the youngest of their families (I am one busy lady).  We were painting plastic sun catchers and I came up with a craft for me to enjoy while they were painting.

Supplies needed:
Glass Votive - I got mine at the Dollar Tree
Sun catcher Paint - from WalMart
Black Sharpie
Black Paint Pen

I used the Sharpie to draw my pumpkins first.  Then I just traced over it with the paint pen.

I used a paint brush to apply the paint and there you have it.  I think it took me twenty min. to produce two.  I know it wouldn't have been that long, but, I had to draw the pumpkins a few times.

This is my dining room table.

I put a couple of candles in them and now I enjoy the soft glow of my candles in the morning while I drink my coffee.

Happy Painting.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all.  I hope you have a wonderful day of Family and Feast.

I am so very Thankful for everyone of you.

Fall Glass Block

I don't know why the fall is so busy, but, I was crazy last year too.  However, I just loved the the way my fall glass block trued out.

Target was my favorite fall source this year.  I bought three different shapes and colors.

I got my cute little sunflower ribbon at the Dollar Tree and made a bow.

I had a cluster of tiny pumpkins in a box that held decorations and a lone leaf.

It was so pretty when lit.

Shine on - he he.

Thanksgiving around The Messy Roost

Here are a few pictures of Thanksgiving around the Messy Roost.

I just love sunflowers...

Target had so many fun things in the $2.50 spot ; )

I adore scarecrows and have a little collection growing.

I never noticed that my candle stick leans -- ha ha

I love to decorate with candles.  The little silver tray was my mom's or my grandma's.

I hope you all had a heartfelt Thanksgiving.

I hope you had a blessed Thanksgiving

Hi Everyone, I have missed blogging and keeping up with everyone.  We have had a lot going on though.  My husband had shoulder surgery, the following day, my Baxter dog lost his battle with his seizures and left us.  The day after that, my 85 year old father-in-law fell and broke his hip.  My daughter was having issues with her heart and is back on a monitor, and I am very tired.  This Thanksgiving, we did have a lot to be thankful for.  My husband's should is healing and will be better in a few months.  Grandpa went home and I just ask for prayer that he will heal.  Lee is doing better and I hope to catch one of her episodes on the moniter soon.  It's hard, but, our pets teach us so much about unconditional love and then they teach us, and our children, about death.  With that behind us, I am looking forward to a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New year.

I haven't posted any pictures lately, so, here are just a few of our Thanksgiving decorations:

My son went to work for the Breadsmith and brought me this beautiful loaf of bread for our dinner.

My red hutch was fun.  I really enjoyed the lights around the top

I tied a leaf on a candle with raffia and liked the effect.

I got this huge wreath from the thrift store for only $2.00 YEAH...  I just wrapped a fall leaf garland around with a pumpkin pick.

My scarecrows took over the shelf in the entry way.

Pumpkins and gourds on the dresser below.  I got the charger from Walmart for under $5.00.

I hope everyone had a wounder Thanksgiving and I will be blogging again.  I can't wait to get started on some Christmas crafts and baking.
