My New Favorite Thing

This past Friday, I went to one of my favorite thrift stores and found this for only $2.00.

I am a Food Network junkie, and, Sandra Lee uses this all the time in her Money Saving Meals.  I know my favorite store, Walmart, has it, but,  I just didn't want to pay $20.00 for it.  What if I didn't like it.

You just cut your onion and peel it.  Place it on the blades and press down.

Wow, I couldn't believe how easy it was and how nice the pieces come out.  I am not gonna lie, I hate to chop onions.  Almost as much as I hate doing dishes -- ha ha.  If  you have $20.00 to spend, this would be a great thing.  Even better, if you see one at a garage sale or thrift store -- definitely pick one up.

Happy Chopping.

Weekend Warrior

Hi everyone, I'm back.  Wow, what a weekend.  I spent the whole weekend on a sports field.  This weekend I was in charge of my youngest daughter and softball.  She played four games on Saturday and three on Sunday.  It wasn't as hot as it has been, but still hovering around 100.

This is Jean playing short

This is her true love.....

She has been called, The Wall

It was still pretty hot and they would take a quick break in between games.

I know this is gross, but, if you look closely, you can see my polka dots.   I have tan marks from my flip flops and my crocks.

Do a Little Something for You....

In my last post, I mentioned that I would do something nice for myself if I got my laundry caught up.  Well, it will never be is almost caught up.  Only half of the sorter and 1 and 1/2 baskets.   I am not even going to think of the clothes already piling up in kids bedrooms.  Anyway, I was at Trader Joe's and decided to really treat myself, and, the best part is that it was under $5.00.

Since I did that, I don't see the paint and marker stains on my table.  The crayons, sippy and snack cups just fade into the background.  The icky sticky something on the chair has disintegrated, and the best part:

it is already Tuesday.  Life is sweet.  So, go and treat yourself to something special, and have a wonderful Tuesday : )

Heat, Sniffles and Dirty Clothes

I was doing up a few lunch dishes looking out my kitchen window and thought I would say a little prayer for my followers.  I prayed that you were all well, happy, and that your laundry is caught up.  I then started to feel really sorry for myself.  My laundry is not caught up, I'm actually thinking of giving it my den, kinda like a guest room.  My cold feels worse after taking the kids outside for just 15 min. to get their crazies out.

Arizona is so hot right now.  I looked in my car, and it said it was 113, my poor little plants are curling up during the day.  : (

My nose was burning and I felt like I just spent 15 min. in a furnace.  I actually feel like a little one myself, every time I bend over, my nose runs -- grrrrr.

Then, I saw this verse, so, I decided to suck it up and get over it.  I took some more cold medication and got the laundry ready for a few loads.  Here is wishing you health, happiness, laughter and always clean clothes.....

Monday Again

Monday is here (boy, they come fast).  I was busy all weekend

We had our first football game of the season.  To be a football player in Arizona, you really have to love the game.  I know it was 110 on that field, and they run and hit and never miss a beat.  I was sooo hot.

Both my boys love football.  James played from the time he was 8 and now he coaches.  Matthew started when he was 7.

When I got home, I had high hopes of getting a couple of projects and  ALL the laundry done.  Well, that didn't happen at all, my dryer went on the fritz.  I think it almost caught on fire.  A load of my sons mesh shorts was ruined (melted them).

This is just a small portion of laundry to be done.
I am too embarrassed to show you the rest (four full baskets and a sorter).

While helping my husband with the dryer (that man can fix ANYTHING, and, did), my youngest daughter came to me saying she wasn't feeling well, and, she had a fever and cough.  Two more kids came down with it too.  I think it is our Welcome Back Cold from my little ones.

So, for now, I am praying that everyone is well, and, your laundry is few.  For me, I have two home sick and a PILE of laundry to do today.  However, I am excited to show you a little project I did last night after the kids and hubby went to bed.  See you soon.

Hump Day Crazies

Is it a full moon?  Did they eat pure sugar with a caffeine chaser this morning?????   I think I am going to change my name.  I only hear Miss Rhonda, Miss Rhonda, Miss Rhonda......  Anyway, there is only one thing to do:

Take one or two handfuls as needed.

Have a great Wednesday.

Happy Friday Everyone

Football, Softball, and Cheer, oh my.  I love the smell of pencils, paper and new school clothes.  I love the pitter patter of little feet in my home again, but, it also means sports kick into full gear around the roost.  We have several activities this weekend, so, I will be posting again next week.  Until then, have a great weekend.

My Older son coaches, 56 is my younger son.

This is my catcher, so tough and loves to wear ruffles.

Happy Monday

I hope you all have a great Monday.  I will have a post of my mail center, bill paying later.  I just wanted to share these pictures.  The desert is always surprising me, as you can always find beauty, even in the most unexpected places.

They look like halos.

Thanks for stopping by.

The FROG days of summer

Last night, I heard a lot of commotion after I went to bed.  My kids are all 12 and older, so, during the summer their bedtime is a little later.  When I got up to see what was going on, this is what I found.

Meet Fred.  He wondered onto our patio.  I always have a little pool for my little ones.  I know for most of you, this is not unusual, but, for us, it is amazing since we live in the desert.  We don't even have grass.  In Arizona, it is our monsoon season.  We do get evening storms and a little (or a lot) of moisture.  I guess the rain the night before last, produced this little guy.

Have a froggy day.  I will be back later with more of my 21 Day Challenge.
