A Mini Pedestal Bowl

Over the past school year, I collected a few treasures so I would have things to create over the summer.  I always have high expectations for my summer break.  I go from six to eight kids to only two.  However, two of our family members were called home to be with Jesus, and, we are still dealing with my husbands ailing parents.  So, when I looked at the calendar and realized I have only four weeks left of my time, I felt a little panic.  With that said, here is one of my little projects I have had in my head for about four months.  I don't know why, but, I love pedestal bowls.  I adore my larger one and use is all over the house -- especially for the holidays.  This one is smaller and I just know I am going to love it too.  Here it is.  I tried a little turquoise on this one.  What do you think?

This is what I started with.  I got it at one of my favorite thrift stores for only .75.  Wow, I didn't realize how dusty is was before I started, is my face red.

Painting it was fun.  I mixed colors and used a rag to do most of my painting.  I am so proud because, I used to be so afraid to paint things.  What if I mess it up????  I can honestly say, I don't have that problem any more -- he he

Have you seen the moss covered rocks in the nicer catalogs?  They are very expensive so you can see why I was so excited to find these little beauties at the Dollar Tree -- YIPPEE!!!

They were a bit too green so I just dotted a little wood finish on them and the color toned right down.

I am really digging the way it turned out.
Thanks for stopping by.
